Marseille are believed not to be happy with Mido’s contribution, taking into account his frequent and long call ups to the Egyptian national side and the fact that Drogba has proven the real deal for the club despite earning half of what Mido is taking home.
While Mido, a player known for his sky high ambition, doesn’t like his contractor laying only 6th in Le Championnat, and having to bow away in the Champions League with a disgraceful 1 win in 6 games. He said upon signing that he is coming to Marseille to bring gold and silver for the hungry fans but this is not possible even next season, with the current squad really missing a lot to compete till the end even domestically.
EP conducted a survey that pondered if it was a wise choice for Mido to go to the French club, and the result is that over 54% say NO. So most of EP's readers think he was 'French fried' in Marseille.
The clubs Mido hinted are interested are pretty much the same as last season and they were, “Roma, Valencia, Deportivo, Lazio and Newcastle.” With Roma in financial crisis plus signing the tall Norwegian Carew, they can be left aside and this leaves Valencia and Newcastle as the most likely to have the money bags needed to land the expensive striker.
Mido always stated his desire to play in the Premiership or in Italy and we can expect more news fuelling the matter...
