Encore deux saisons, qui devraient être les dernières, mais les producteurs diraient pas non à une neuvième...Showtime's David Nevins has suggested that Dexter is approaching its "end game".
The drama, which stars Michael C Hall as serial killer Dexter Morgan, was picked up for two more seasons last month.
"Coming back for two more years gives us clarity about how and when it will go out," Nevins said at Showtime's annual holiday party in Los Angeles.
"There's things that are going to happen [this season] that will set up a very clear end game that will take two seasons to tell. You have got to be there for the last two episodes [of season six]."
He added: "Having that definitiveness always helps. It's rare to have that degree of certainty."
Nevins claimed that he would "never... say never" to a ninth season of Dexter, but confirmed that the eighth run is likely to be the show's last.
"Everybody is operating under that assumption," he said. "[Though] things could take a turn creatively where they come to us and say they need more time."
