West Brom started positive the season after the draw at Manchester against City. Bryan Robson's team was better and has oppurtunities to win the match. Now they face Portsmouth in Hawthorns and look ready for victory.
The predictions say that baggies will fight again in the relegation battle but this year looks better and of course more expirienced. Personally i believe in this team and ecpect to stay in Premiership.
Against Portsmouth, Robson has a full squad plus striker Nathan Ellington who came from Wigan. Last year was the best attacking option of Latics and is consider as a hot prospect.
Portsmouth have many problems. Last Saturday they lost easily from Tottenham, their perfomance was really bad witout changes for goal. Alain Perren knows that his squad is small so he still try to bring players to Fratton Park. A capable attacker is the first priority of French manager and after a strong central defenter.
Against West Brom Perren has many troubles to face. Ivica Mornar is injured so midfielder Gary O' Neil must play. The England under-21 captain is sick but pompeys doesnt have any other solutions.
Defender Linvoy Primus (knee), midfielder Aliou Cisse (thigh) and striker Svetoslav Todorov are also out.
West Brom has great history against Portsmouth at Hawthorns and I expect another one victory for them
.
Big match at White Hart Lane between Tottenham and Middlesbrough. Two abitious clubs with the same targets. European qualification.
The two last years spurs spent a lot of money to bring success but still nothing. This season things looks a little bit different. Many people believe in this team and some of them says that they are capable to finish in top-6.
Last Saturday they beat Portsmouth at Fratton Park and manager Martin Jol expect from his players a similar perfomance against Boro, espesially from the attacking line, on of the best in England. Dafoe looks in great shape and Mido the same. Robbie Keane will be on the bench but ready to help. A trio capable to demolish every defence.
Further more, Jol has another one reason to be optimistic. Edgar Davids is ready to play for first time with spurs shirt. Everyone at White Hart Lane expect the Dutch to become the leader of this team and push them to glory.
In the other side, last saturday Boro fought hard against Liverpool and gain one point (0-0). Steve McClaren said that he was satisfied with the perfomance of his team. Dont forget that Boro faced Reds with many problems, many absenties.
Something similar is going to happen at London this Saturday. Boro will travel to capital without Ugo Ehiogu, Emanuel Pogatetz, Chris Riggott, Stuart Parnaby and Tony McMahon. This is for sure a defensive crisis.
I m sure that Mido and Dafoe will score against this Middlesbrough and with Davids in the starting line up I expect the home team celebrate a importand victory.
So my vote is going to Spurs. Good Luck

West Brom managed to keep a clean sheet facing such a strong and difficult opponent as Man.City. City, however they had the their chances, Kirkland saved, and Albion could have snatched a suprise win if they believed it a bit more.
Moreover team economics seem to blossom rapidly as from(1998) and 6.8 million £ they now take a Premier LEague generous share of 20.3 million (2004). Part of this money was spend (around 3.2 m £) to acquire Elighton. Wigan'w striker.
• Brom sure made a suprise there as Wigan lost their BEST attacker to a rival club an they are still on the run for relegation.
Bobby Robson seems to aim mid-table this year and in his craziest dream maybe who knows European qualification !! ?
I say the team will be logicallly saved easier than previous season, while Robert Earnshaw (loan Man Utd.) remains at the team along with Elingthon (who will probably hit the bench at the start tommorow) they surely deserve a clean head out of trouble.
• Portmouth on the other hand lost 0-2 at the premier and their fans were awarded the degrating title of 'early moaners' by Gary Lineker at the Soccer Show Match of the Day.
Alain Perrin scratches his head as he lost top-striker Yakubu , he has to put his hopes only in Lua-Lua (Necastle). Probably he will setup his team for a draw , being afraid of a new loose.
Portsmouth seems to have a real struggle this year as team seems to have internal problems, and this costs them much beyond suspensions and missing players. I can't see Portmouth winning at this game that is y, I am going FULL STAKES with West Brom. Maybe it is a good idea also to hunt that -1 European handicap also !! Elighton may make the difference, even in the last minute.

Everyone in England is expecting something big from Tottenham Hotspur this season, and their new squad speaks for itself. So much in the preseason has indicated that Tottenham should be competing for the top positions. Whether it's impressive friendly results, excellent performances or the actual squad, it all looks positive.
It may have turned out better for Tottenham that they didn't qualify for the UEFA Cup this season. It is not like they would get relegated while playing UEFA Cup football, as was the case with Ipswich Town a few seasons back, but the fact is that they saw their weaknesses by not qualifying. Martin Jol noticed that he needs more world class players and the team players noticed that themselves.
At the end of last season some new recruits came in, but were still settling in. Andy Reid, Matt Dawson and Mido were all signed. To add to this, Edgar Davids made an impact for Spurs without touching the ball. The British sports news made his signing the first headline, and it was clearly an indication, once again, of a club on the up. Signing a world class player like Davids is also a start for Tottenham in inviting even better players to the team. The Dutchman's image and presence at the club is maybe of more impact and use than what he has to offer in terms of his football.
The experience in the team is now also at a high point. From Robinson and King at the back, who both represent England, to players who have played at top clubs in the past, Mido surely one of them, Robbie Keane formerly at Inter Milan, Noureddine Naybet formerly of Deportivo La Coruna, new signing Stalteri from Werder Bremen and undoubtedly Edgar Davids, among others.
This team cannot be offered on level ball on their home ground even against Middlesbrough. This is a home/draw match, so on level ball, Tootenham definetely will be my choice.Good Luck
